William Reuter is an accomplished professional with a diverse and extensive background in mediation, security consulting, business management, and community service. As the Owner and Principal Mediator of Conflict Mediation, LLC, he has been at the forefront of resolving disputes since August 2016. Mr. Reuter's expertise is recognized by his appointments to the New York State 9th Judicial Roster as a Commercial and Civil Mediator, his serving as an ADR Panel Mediator at The Mediation Center of the Pacific in Honolulu, and his mediation work for numerous Dutchess County City and Town Courts.
His career spans several decades, including a significant tenure at IBM Corporation, where he retired in December 2022. During his time at IBM, he held critical roles, such as Principal of the National Security and Business Continuity Consulting Practice. In this role, he integrated IBM’s methodologies across the United States, managed a team of over fifty consultants, and significantly increased the practice's revenue to $20 million annually. His leadership also extended to the Global Security Consulting Practice, where he exceeded revenue targets and led the integration of best practices in IBM's Latin American operations.
As a Global Security Consulting Practice Business Manager, Mr. Reuter developed and marketed IBM's security methodologies, managed substantial revenue and utilization targets, and negotiated contracts with external service providers. He also hired and educated over thirty global security consultants across America and Latin America, demonstrating his commitment to fostering talent and ensuring the highest standards of security practice.
Mr. Reuter's commitment to community service is evident in his significant contributions. He served as President of Germania of Poughkeepsie, Inc. from July 2012 to July 2022, having previously held roles as Vice President, Secretary, and Trustee. Under his leadership, Germania witnessed substantial improvements in marketing, revenue expansion, and financial compliance. He also led the application for federal charitable organization tax exemptions, enhancing the organization's capacity for community service.
Before his mediation practice, Mr. Reuter was President and Owner of Northeast Investment Group, LLC, from June 2006 to August 2016. He developed a real estate investment group focused on acquiring, renovating, and selling commercial and residential properties, providing consultation services to businesses and individuals. He currently manages numerous investment properties.
His dedication to service is further exemplified by his volunteer work as a firefighter, Boy Scout leader, halfway house counselor, and Big Brother.
Mr. Reuter is an elected official, currently serving as a Town of Poughkeepsie Councilperson.
